Many of us do not have an extraordinary amount of time to cook, but we are all probably a little bit conscious about the fact that it can be unhealthy to grab something on the go. If you’re pressed for time, you might be surprised with exactly how healthy crock pot recipes can be. As a matter of fact, not only are they healthy, but they can often be thrown together rather quickly and they will be ready for you whenever you get home from work. Here are 3 of our favorite recipes that we would like to share with you.

The first crock pot recipe that we would like to share is a simple vegetable soup. Believe it or not, there is not necessarily going to be a recipe that you need to follow with this but it is the stock that makes a big difference in how the finished product is going to taste. We start with some low fat, low sodium chicken stock or perhaps beef stock if the mood is right. Mix it at a ratio of half stock, half water and then add any kind of vegetables that you want. It really doesn’t matter what type of vegetables you add, it is all going to taste good so make sure that you add it according to your own liking. Simply leave it for the day and whenever you get home, the house will smell fantastic and your soup will be ready for you.

The next type of recipe that we would like to share with you is a beef potato stew. This is fairly easy to make, and you would be surprised with exactly how delicious it is, considering that it only has a few ingredients. Wash and cut your potatoes and roll the stew meat in some flour. Cut an onion in small strips and add it in with the meat and potatoes, along with one or two cans of stewed tomatoes. Add 2 cups of water, and leave it cook for the entire day. This is sure to be one of your family’s favorites.

The crockpot is also an excellent way for you to make a roast, and if you have a crock pot that is large enough, you would be surprised with what you are able to do with it in just a few minutes time. I like to put a roast on in the morning, adding a little bit of water and then some baby carrots, along with onion and potatoes. It only takes me about 5 to 10 minutes to get ready, but the finished product is so delicious that it seems as if you took an entire hour to do so.
